Marilynne that blackbird is a little close for that size of lens - did you (or that photographer) have to step back to get that bird shot or can a lens that size actually take a picture that close?

FKD, I didn't move from one shot to the next, just went from 150mm in the first to 600mm for the second. Don't know what mm she was shooting at. As long as you're about eight to nine feet from the subject, you can get the shot, although it may be a head shot only.

Some lady told me my lens was large, she didn't see this guy.

As I was leaving the Arb, I met a camera group from the nearby Catholic girls school. They were all shooting new Canons -- the company had done them a deal ala Apple. I didn't hold it against them and made a little map of the birds I had spotted.

Marilynne for some reason I thought the blackbird was actually a picture taken by the photographer in the photograph - looking at the EXIF data it is clear now, you took both pictures from some distance away.

Sometimes jumping to conclusions is the only mental exercise I get.

No problem FKD. If you look in my daily or the reptile thread, you'll see a gator that was to close to the boardwalk for anything but an eye shot.

Gotta start them off young. Tried talking to her and she hid behind daddy's leg. She was enjoying her visit and taking photos.
