Nikon D7000. Sigma AF 100-300mm F4 EX IF HSM APO. Sigma 1.4 teleconverter. ISO 220, 1/125, F11, 420mm.

200mm, 1/50, f5.6, ISO100

Exposure is too long. Bump it up to 1/200 to start. You may need to go faster. If memory serves i think with this much moon visible I'm at 1/320. The moon comes out much better with some underexposing.

wev, you are doing a lot better than i did with my 200 lens, never really got decent pictures of it until i got the 300mm lens.

Thank you -- I enjoy the challenge -- a bigger lens would be more than I am worth (so says my wife)

Been too cloudy and missed the full moon, but here is one of mine from 12/11/2013 or 11/12/2013(American way). D3200, ISO100, f8, 1/320s Sigma 150-500mm @500mm. PS the lens is sharper @ 450mm but just wanted to push it all the way.Moon12112013.jpg
