The air was finally clean and calm so I decided to try out my 300mm prime to shoot the moon. The lens is so freaking amazing in how sharp it is. My best moon image to date courtesy of a great lens.

Awesome shot! Is it a combo, though? The stars behind look like they have a bit of trail in spots. If not, I'm insanely jealous of those clear Utah skies!

Combo. The moon is just too bright to pull off. However, out in the desert unpopulated areas the stars are amazing here.

From my backyard in light polluted Melbourne.... trying out my 300mm plus a 2x converter...

I noticed the moon and tried the new lens. 200mm is a bit short so even the 100% crop is small. I quickly doubled it up but I might better have done it slowly instead.
