How a roe deer goes from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Bull Elk "bugling". What a magnificent animal, all 1500+ pounds of him!

Couple of Otter photos, they had cubs recently, taken at my local Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. Asian short clawed otters

Nice shots! I narrowly missed out on a job at Washington WWT last year. It was between myself and one other, I gave the best interview I've ever done by far and they were impressed but gave it to someone else with a bit more experience. I wish in some ways they hadn't told me how close I got. Oh well, having seen these cute cubs I might make a trip there again soon as a paying customer.
Have you made it up to the Farne Islands? I've been up once this year but planning another trip in the next couple of weeks.

Magnificent beast. I saw a few cow Elk from the road in Arizona but never seen them properly in the wild. Would love to hear a bull making that weird bugle sound!

Here is the matriarch of that herd. She was probably around 900-1000 pounds

Beautiful! Just noticed the focal length, that most have been a close quarters sighting.

Pay no attention to my EXIF. All of my Nikkors are AI/AIS and I very rarely bother to change the Non-CPU lens setting. Both of these were shot with the "beast", my 600mm f/4 ED-IF AIS.

For an animal who weighs close to a ton, they have the squeakiest, high pitched voices! It is like a Lincoln Navigator with the horn of a VW Beetle.

Hi Elliot, I had a weeks holiday in Northumberland last month. I was photographing some of the wonderful Rock Art on the moors. Enjoyed it so much I have booked another weeks hols up there in October. Not been to the Farnes, me and water don't get on. I'm no sailor that's for sure. I have a yearly pass card for Washington WWT, costs me about 40 quid a year. Enjoy the Farnes trip.

Strange Brew it is a beautiful county that's for sure. Have you visited Bempton Cliffs? I haven't been but have seen lots of gannet and puffin photos from there, I probably won't get there this year but it looks like it's worth a trip.

Hi Elliot, not been to Bempton Cliffs. Next time I'm away will be in August, hopefully to Rutland Water for the Birdfair. Lots of optics and photography trade stands there. I'm saving every penny for a Tamron 70 200 F2.8. Looking to try one out when I'm there.

This is a stoat Mustela erminea similar if not the same to what Americans call a weasel. In the UK a weasel is quite a lot smaller, has no black tip to its tail and less of a clear boundary between its brown body and white belly.

This one took me by surprise whilst I was driving along, just had time to grab my Nikon, lean out of the window and snap 3 shots as it ran back across the road. I wasn't set up for an action shot and had no time to ensure my focus was bang on, so they are soft from focus and slowish shutter. Still pleased to have caught it on camera at all.
