this is a stoat mustela erminea similar if not the same to what americans call a weasel. In the uk a weasel is quite a lot smaller, has no black tip to its tail and less of a clear boundary between its brown body and white belly.

This one took me by surprise whilst i was driving along, just had time to grab my nikon, lean out of the window and snap 3 shots as it ran back across the road. I wasn't set up for an action shot and had no time to ensure my focus was bang on, so they are soft from focus and slowish shutter. Still pleased to have caught it on camera at all.
