This is my first attempt at taking pictures of stars without the moon featuring. Taken using an AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G lens on a tripod mounted D5500 in the back garden (shielded somewhat by the house from street lights). As a novice I used the "night landscape" scene setting and focussed to infinity using live mode zoomed in on a bright star.
