It's unfortunate that you have to wait until late August to receive it. After reading your post, I browsed the Bestbuy web page and I'm flabbergasted that they have nothing available for 27-inch iMacs until at least August 21. Some models are listed as available only later than that. Wow!

If you get an external hard drive with FW3/USB-C connections, it should also help to speed your work up substantially. I look forward to your reviews after it arrives.

Base model, with the 3.0GHz 6‑core Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost up to 4.1GHz), which is plenty good enough for my needs. The Radeon Pro 570X with 4GB of GDDR5 memory should be plenty to run the software I'll be using. (No gaming for me.) I also wish it was coming sooner, but between shipping delays, COVID and trade wars, things have slowed down a lot. I guess there are a number of people buying up the 27" models right now because they fear the new iMac models may not be user upgradable for RAM.

Very nice specs; you should see a markedly noticeable performance improvement. On top of that, the display should please you greatly.

I have read a rumor that the new models will be just as they worry they will be. I believe that people are also buying them because they're worried about a production stoppage stemming from possible worsening of trade issues between the US and China.

And for what it's worth, installing and/or playing games on my iMacs is not tolerated. That is what Windows-based PCs are for.

The 500 is bigger when closed, smaller diameter too. The 600 is a little heavier but its got a great feel to it, whatever its made with, fast focus and locks, the 500 would wander a bit.

Thanks Danno, I did manage to get for an hour yesterday with the lens after collecting it, and I love the results - So amazingly sharp!

Ordered new computer, external hard drive, and now one of our newly adopted cats will need several teeth pulled to the tune of around $950. Ugh! :)

We replaced one of our vehicles this week... a 2017 Explorer with 25K miles. That should last us quite a while given our current level of travel and Pat will drive the Jeep until she retires early next year.

And yes that's a like-new with tag unused Lowepro 650 AW second from the right. I'm not sure why Lowepro hasn't continued the Magnum series.

When my wife finds out, she just goes out and buys more quilting "stuff." Which she would have purchased anyway. :p

As it stands, I can't make any more big purchases right now. We're waiting for our mortgage refinancing to go through. I don't think that it would make any difference at this point, by why chance it?
