RRS L Bracket. I hadn’t planned on getting one for this camera, but I have missed it since I sold the D90. I found this one in the used cabinet at the local brick and mortar store for under $100 so I picked it up.

Sorry for the crappy iPhone pic.

Well, I got rid of a few things including my Tamron 70-200 f2.8 macro non-VC and replaced it this last week with a new lens. The Tamron 70-200 f 2.8 Di VC G2.

I do love it. Have not gotten out a lot but what I have taken with it I have liked a lot more. The VC helps me a lot. I got awful tempted when the D750 went on sale for only a couple hundred more, but I like my D700 and D7200. This lens will fit well on both bodies.

Nice, Dan! :encouragement:

The glass is so important that an updated body can wait. You will notice far more improvement with this new lens on your current bodies than you would have noticed with your old lens coupled to a D750. ;) Have fun!

Thanks, Cindy, you are right, and I am happy I went with the glass. I really like this lens. I look forward to putting it to good use. But I have to admit I was tempted. ;)

Not really a "purchase", but newly acquired. My mother passed away last month, and I'm cleaning out the house. Down in the basement (dark dungeon) inside one of the many old cabinets filled with "stuff", I found this today - a Brownie Target Six-20. Normally, finding something like this would be mildly interesting, but something made it very special for me. Read on.....

(I think you can click on each one for larger image)

OK, so what made so interesting to me? Well, my dad was stationed at Barber's Point Naval Air Station next door to Pearl Harbor from 1949-1951. On the bottom of the camera was this permit, with my dad's name and rank.

Definitely a keeper!

Miss you, dad!

What a find that needs a shelf for its self or somewhere special

Picked up this yesterday hoping for pleasing results of this evenings festivities. Played with it a little last night on my relatively new SB-5000 that I didn't really understand how to use/set either. Reviewed the Users Manual finally so I would at least understand what the abbreviations and icons mean.

I'm really looking forward to increasing my understanding of flash photography!

Nice to have another box, albeit the older ones with galore of lenses looked way better than these.

well sort of my latest purchase - given my dearly beloved asks me to buy my Christmas present from her at The Camera Store last month when I was there. Among other things (will post some later) I bought for her to give to me was a new Lensbaby 60 Twist lens. I tired it out this evening and while I got some good shots and it does look cool on the camera with the brass ring on the front. I'm going to have to learn how to make it do the twist but that will come I'm sure. It is a manual focus lens and has no CPU (hence the limited or absent exif data) it does allow you to dial in the F-stop rather than have to swap a disk like some of the earlier Lensbaby optics I have.

No photography equipment this year for Christmas, but 2018 is shaping up to be a good bit of travel to utilize the gear that I already have. That's something good for me, since I feel like 2017 flew by too fast with too few shutter actuations.

I have brought a few things over Xmas !

I had a 50mm 1.8g but never used it so I got rid of it and got an 85mm 1.8 that I LOVE but I miss the 50mm so I found a 50mm 1.4g for £200 so I snapped it up !!

I am starting to do a lot more in the studio and that means I am tethering more, I wanted a Tether Tool block so that the cable is secure to the camera but they are stupid money for a block of aluminium. So I got the Jerkstopper

And finally I am spending a lot more time between my home in Bristol and where I stay in London for work and I am frequently forgetting chargers !! So I have brought a Microsoft Surface Charger and a 2 way EN-EL15 Charger :)
