Nikon Nikkor 80-200mm F/2.8 D Macro ED 2-Touch (Integral Tripod Mount) Autofocus Lens | KEH Camera

After many hours of reading reviews and internal debates with myself, I decided to pull the trigger on this...now I just need a decent tripod or monopod that won't break the bank...

This is a great lens. I have one I purchased in the 1990's for $600 and love it. And even more impressive, it appears I can sell it for what I paid for it! Of course, then I would have to buy a new 70-200mm for $2800 and get VR (good) and breathing issues (not so good).

I should have checked here first yesterday. I need to get a hold of Blacktop, he has one in the market for sale, for quite a bit less than the one from KEH. If he still has it, I'll cancel the order and buy his...

I agree. I caught a killer sale last year on one and couldn't be happier.

Yes last year at "The Camera Store" I'm weighing my options for the new D7200, refurb D7200 or new but older D7100. Decided that the extra $400 needed to stay in my pocket as the extra features of the newer version really didn't make me open my wallet that far.

My D5100 ended up becoming my wife's camera and she sold her Nikon L810 point and shoot embracing DSLR. So far she's happy in 'auto-everything' - but recently moved to a zoom lens - she'd been happy with the 35mm prime, less weight and less to do - but now the 18-85 seems to be on her D5100 most of the time. My sister-in-law bought a D5600 and loves it, thinking maybe I get the Mrs. that for her birthday, sure beats jewelry eh? (or not?)

"Bagged" me three small bags - super clearance prices (less than $9 each) I just could not pass up.
Actually there is a fourth as I got two of those reddish LowPro flash unit bags at $5 I bought an extra one.

Repurposing the small Lowpro Go-Pro bag as a wide angle lens bag.
The black one I'm trying out as a bag for my X1 Godox triggers. Trigger in one section and receivers in another.
I like to keep all my gear in their own protective bags.

I tried shooting with a gimbal on a monopod recently and really liked it. Problem was I only had a cheep monopod and he connection between it and the gimbal was shaky at best. So yesterday I added a Manfrotto Monopod to the kit. It is heavy duty and a little larger around so it works great with the Gimbal. Went out and played with it a little today. Very stable platform for the D750 and Tamron 150-600

Nice photos, Don. Which Manfrotto monopod did you get? They have a few different ones. Just curious because that's some weight for it to hold. ;)
