Excellent. All you need now is a Tam and we'll be twins. . .

Been looking at tripods for weeks, and was about to pull the trigger on an induro when I saw the benros were on sale at B&h today on their hot deals. I was going to get the smalled TMA28c but it sold out while I was trying to make my mind up, luckily after it did they put this one up. Bigger for just $30 more. Benro TMA38c. I will be ordering a new ballhead as well, I think I'm going to order the Acratech GP to go with it.

Got myself a MeFoto Roadtrip Tripod in hot pink ! Super excited to get this as it weighs 3.6 lbs and my current Slik 700Dx Pro weighs 8 lbs!!! I NEVER take it on hikes and always find myself needing one!

Nikon D750, Nikon D800, Nikon 16-35 f/4, Nikon 50mm 1.8, Nikon 70-300
Sigma 24-70 f/2.8, Sigma 105mm f2.8
Sigma 150-600 C
Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 Di VC USD

Bought the Favorite wife a Tamron 18-270 and it came in today. It was a used-very good unit from Amazon. $229. I opened it up and looked at it. Looks like now. Clean, no wear marks, no dust. Put it on the camera that even though I have not fine tuned it yet it is pretty sharp. The only thing that gives me a little pause it there is a slight hard place when zoom in. Starting out in 18 and zoom in to 70 its gets a little hard till you get to 100 and it is fine the rest of the way. I am wondering if it is just not broken in good and will loosen up or if I need to send it back and get another copy? I have 30 days to return it

My newest "light stand"

From some of my OCF research I was convinced I 'needed' a Joby to hold my flash - and when Henry's had one on sale I didn't resist. This is the Hybrid model which is plenty strong enough for any of my speedlights. Seems to grip well and with the wee ballhead I can aim the flash any which way I want.

And I added an Aurora Mini-Max Light Bender just because.

Such a thoughtful hubby you are ...

I doubt I'd get away with buying my dearly beloved anything from the bargain bin never mind the used section.

But I have been thinking of getting her one of these super-zooms for the D5100. She was stuck on the 35mm 1.8 prime for the longest time, but recently began to embrace zooming with the 16-85mm. We do have a 55-300 so there would be no gain in terms of getting a longer lens, but maybe in terms of use as the 55-300 rarely sees any action. I wonder how a superzoom like this one compares to the Nikkor 16-85mm F3.5-5.6?

And if a super-zoom which one - there are several options.

Finally broke down and bought a GoPro Hero 5 Black edition... got a 64gb mini card, 3 way mount and an extra battery and charger with it too.

Time for some time lapse star trails without worrying about weather?

I sent it back and have another one on the way. If this one is not good I will let her stick with what she has
