replaced the cartridges for your old HP well
Yup. The HP was almost 5 years old. This one prints nice 6x4's as well. I haven't tried it with anything bigger, but it does print up to 11x17s.

I needed some storage for all my photo gear and gizmos.
Picked up one of those plastic drawer things at CDN Tire on sale. Not my first one of these, won't be my last.
But this one was different.
It was NOT Made in CHINA - but "Made in Canada" - had to take a picture of that.
(This is the backside BTW)
Yes there is a bit of a conundrum, expensive lenses in cheap plastic drawers - I did look at for some wooden ones but needed one on wheels that was less than 14" wide, does not leave lots of options - and it works. It is replacing one that was 1" too wide but that we lived with for a while. Meant my dearly beloved always had to move it to open a closet door.

I have early rise insomnia (meaning I don't have trouble falling asleep but I tend to wake up at ungodly early hours of the morning) which can lead to some less than discriminate purchases at odd hours. To wit: this sub-$100 Afaith Q-666C tripod. I'm calling it the "Tripod of the Beast", for all the obvious reasons.

While I have been wanting something a little lighter and more portable, there was still some mild surprise when it showed up on my doorstep Saturday afternoon (photo is stock)...

Testing for this little hot-rod is still pending but I have to say, for what I apparently paid for it, it's a fairly nice little addition. I can tell it's no match for my Manfrotto 055XPROB but the interloper is also a fraction of the weight and slings over my shoulder (padded bag included (take that, Manfrotto!)) with all the bulk of a paperback book. And with it being so easy to carry around, the chances that it *will* be carried around are far greater...
Mind blown? Yeah, I thought so.

still haven't got the lenspen nor brush.
However got a spare back up battery for the D750 & a GoPro 4 - Silver.
While wandering around Edinburgh on an Easter holiday we spotted a pair of used Nikon 70-200 F2.8's... One was in perfect condition for £1300, and the other had a few superficial scratches, but was up for just £956 (US $1420). I tried both and decided a few scratches makes no difference what so ever, and jumped at the latter - I don't know about other places, but in UK you can't get the vr1 version for less than £1000 normally! So, after renting one a few months ago, I now am the proud owner of this beast...!
Slowly completing my darkroom set-up. The Beseler 45 I was gifted, although functional, had some issues. One was the arm that holds the head horizontally was busted off. I never thought I'd find a replacement without simply getting another complete enlarger, but one did pop up on ebay the other day. $9 shipped. I couldn't pass it up, even though I doubt I ever will have the need to use it. Maybe I'm a bit OCD about having 'perfect' stuff.
I also found a brand-spankin' new Paterson test strip printer for $14.

I chose black instead of white because my Nikon One J1 is in a white bag.
This way, I will not grab the wrong bag when I am in a hurry.

Sounds like prices are much higher in Scotland. I'm going to be looking closely at buying one of these VR-1's in Calgary next week. 1,250$ CDN (his asking price). Sounds like it is like-new (includes box, instructions, the whole nine yards). That works out to 670 GBP. (Or maybe I cheap out and buy the 80-200 non-VR for half that much).
