Congrats on the D7100! You're gonna love it. To me it's simply the best dx camera on the market. And wait till you see how bright and clear the viewfinder is. Enjoy it!!

Well my 80-400mm lens ebay purchase turned a bit crazy! Today I missed a delivery requiring a signature, but I hadn't received any indication that it had been shipped, and the shipping was suppose to be by USPS and instead it was being delivered by UPS! So no notification of being shipped, changed shipping without notice, and no reply to messages sent before today asking about if it was shipped or not! Crazy!

I even had to call UPS to find out that this is the lens, going by the origin of the shipping matching the listing origin.

So now I have to stay home tomorrow to make sure I don't miss the delivery. I sure hope it was packed really well, since it's not a cheap lens.

I will update you to let you hear how things end up on the delivery and condition of this crazy lens purchase! Grrrrrrr.

Well here's the promised update! After waiting all day so as not to miss the delivery, my Nikkor AF 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 ED lens arrived at 6:00 pm! The relief was massive, after all the craziness in shipping! Then comes the big moment of in boxing it, and the first thing I noticed was man this seems pretty heavy, great! Then taking it out of the case for it, it hit me what a beast this lens is compared to the rest of my lenses, Wow very impressed! Next I looked it over and just like the listing said, it looks brand new!! I practically flew to my D300 taking it off my tripod and quickly but carefully I swapped lenses putting my new beast on, and took a couple indoors shots checking the AF and clarity! No I wasn't expecting a shot worth posting, just wanting to make sure it was working good without any noticeable issues.

Anyway to spell it out, I'm thrilled to death with it so far, and very impressed with quality and love the fact it seems to look and work like new! I'm even starting to think I may have gotten a hell of a deal even at an expensive price for me of $647.00 for this great lens! :D

PS. @RockyNH Yes Pat buddy I now do think it was worth aggravation of that shipping craziness! Lol :D

I got the same shock when I got mine they are bigger and heavier than you expect. I think you got yourself a real bargain - have fun.
