I'd be interested to see how you get in with the lens and TC. I have the VRii and TC-20e iii. Post some pics when you've tried it.

Scott, great choice. As per another post of mine, make sure you AF Fine tune it. We have two copies of that lens in our house and the tune is different on 2 7100s and an 800. I'm not saying the lens is bad, it's just that with this one you will be after the best quality.

Having developed all sorts of film (Plus-X, Tri-X, color negs, Ektachrome) back in the 70s and 80s, I decided to 'get back in to' developing film. I purchased a Nikon FM2n a couple years ago as I have several lenses that will work on it. Today, I took the next step, and got all the goodies needed to devleop black & white film.

I got bit by the Carbon Fiber bug, stung me right in the wallet it did! SIRUI P-326 6 Section Carbon Fiber Monopod, 22 lb. Load Capacity 15" closed and weighs under a pound. It will be interesting to see if the hype meets the facts. The reviews on this are 100% I don't know if I'll add a ball head to this or not. Kind of defeats the purpose I would think weight wise. But, even with a ball head it would still be under 2 pounds.
