I've been trying to get one of these for a year.

Great lens pickup. I have one myself. How much did you end up paying for it?

KEH.
$208 + overpriced, overnight shipping.
It's a very good lens. It's nice for the days I'm not into packing the big 70-200mm f2.8 around.

Vello Battery Grip for the D7100
Eneloop charger and four Eneloop Pro batteries
Two Extreme Pro SD cards
HN-24 knock off screw in lens hood for the 70-210 f4 AF old school lens.
A proper $5.00 white balance card
Nikon 77mm lens cap to replace one that's AWOL.
Spare feet for my Yongnuo flash. The OEM feet grew legs and ran off with my missing 77mm lens cap

Love those Eneloop batteries - have a few - well OK several.

Love to hear how that Vello Battery Grip works for you.

Them thieving lens caps never go missing by themselves! Lol.

I have 2 or 12 of those Eneloops, too!

Readers Digest review.
Camera detects the grip fine.
The grip buttons work. Won't BBF. Not a huge issue.
Rock solid when attached to the camera. Still solid when put on the tripod.
Doesn't feel cheap.
It's a little easier to work the camera when I have the big lenses attached.
If there is a downside, the grip makes an already heavy setup heavier.

Hmmmm.... all I've used is BBF for years. May be a deal breaker for me if it is a common problem.

That happens to me too when I post a shot taken with my phone. Orientation when taken perhaps?

They show fine on both the phone and the computer. Once I upload them, the forum software seems to be doing the rotate, and I can't figure out how to undo that.

I used to see that problem when uploading multiple images at once, with no space in between then, but now it's a common occurrence when using the iPhone. Point taken ... use the Nikon more. :)

Double checked. Grip won't BBF. Have to use the old half shutter button press focus.
Camera controls are unaffected.
I don't use any of the grip buttons so I'm unaffected. YMMV.

I was going to suggest that you rotate the phone 90 degrees CW and it would come out fine... but I think your solution is better :D

Have you went into the settings and changed the button on the grip to BBF?

Function F9 in controls? :)
