Of course. I'm using the D7100 for landscapes. LOL

I thought you might want the extra reach of the DX for wildlife. Personally I think the qualities of the D750 might over ride the benefit of the extra reach. I think cropping might still give as good or better quality. Focus is faster on the D750 along with the increase in ISO.

That is exactly it. Even with my 70-300mm if I have a chance I put it on the D750. Unfortunately that is a short FL for birds in flight so it lives on the D7100 most of the time..

From my favorite thrift store…

A previous owner of this lens was apparently a mute donkey, who managed to get a UV filter screwed too tightly on the front, and was unable to remove it. There was evidence that he had used a considerable amount of force, and only managed to do some significant damage to the filter, and some minor damage to the lens itself, without managing even slightly to loosen the filter.

Fortunately, I was able to remove the filter, (destroying what was left of it in the process, but it was already ruined anyway, so no loss there) without doing any further damage to the lens, and to repair what damage had already been done to the lens.

So now, finally, on my tight budget, I have a usable macro lens.

After months and months of research, deliberating, looking at countless number of photos on Flickr and other sites.
After reading countless reviews.
After countless side by side comparisons between this lens and the Sigma/Tamron lenses and after just plain going nuts, I have finally pulled the trigger.

Nikkor 200-500mm ED-IF-SD-XYZ-VR-iFocus. (this is the Blacktop edition with iFocus) It will automatically focus on the eyes of any creature for maximum sharpness. The only drawback is that if you're shooting something other than wildlife, it will still find the nearest bird and focus on the eyes no matter what. I for one am willing to live with this small inconvenience.

Congrats Pete. I got mine on 9/18 and so far it's been a nice addition to my kit. I had to buy it a D7200 in November and a gimbal head in December. Now I'm waiting for nice weather so I can shoot some BIF without freezing.

Is that coloring supposed to be around the screw? Is that because of the f/1.0 aperture?

Looks like an interesting lens to work with, and a pretty good price too!
Put on a pair of standard red/blue 3D glasses and look at that image. It's an anaglyph image made from two separate shots. I neglected to mention that in my previous post.

In the past I've mentioned using a Sigma 82mm CP filter where the coating flaked off in small spots. Although Sigma replaced it, the coating flaked on the second one, too. None of my other CP filters have ever experienced this problem and most are even older than the Sigma CP filter. :(

Eventually I replaced the Sigma 82mm CP filter with one made by Hoya. I always try to go with slim profile filters especially since this was for my Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 lens. The Hoya filter is great except for one small annoying problem...it lacks the ability to hold a lens cap because there aren't any threads on the front.

So...I just ordered a different Hoya slim profile 82mm multi-coated CP filter at an EXCELLENT price of $68.42. Plus is has the front threads to hold a lens cap. ;) If you own the latest Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 with VR, or the latest Tamron or Sigma version, they all take 82mm filters so this will fit. The link states there are a limited number available.

Hoya 82mm Circular Polarizing Pro 1Digital Multi-Coated XD82CRPL

And if you are in the market for a 77mm slim profile CP filter, Hoya also has it available for the great price of $48.80. And it also has threads to hold the lens cap.

I ended up getting the Yuneec Q500 4K simply because I liked the built in screen as opposed to needing a seperate one like with the DJI.

In an effort to help my wife an I have answers without always needing to wait for a nurse or doctor present to listen to my beloved's lungs, heart, and stomach, I bought this medical item. I was looking for one of the best stethoscopes for myself, and asking our nurse for a little hands on teaching in it's use. So after some research I found this one which is suppose to be one of the best, designed for master cardiologists in a very good well known brand.
Maybe this will be of some help in taking care of my beloved wife.:)
