Well I never thought or imagined I would be back here with what I got today!

In addition to the above I haven't posted the following gear on this thread (D7100 also in this photo)

Giotto tripod and ball head, Lowepro Sling Bag, D7100 and Keen Hiking boots

VERY nice. I've got the Lowepro bag, D7100, Keen Hiking boots, but a Manfrotto tripod LOL

This came in today :D
Also got a Voigtlander Ultron 40mm f2 manual focus lens.

Have just been playing around with it in the house this evening and setting up the camera how I like it.

Just in my initial testing around the house the Voigtlander is a bit sharper and has better contrast wide open compared to the 50mm/1.8G or the 35mm/1.8G on my D7100.

Since my 300mm ain't going to be for tomorrow, I decided to first tweak the reach between my 50mm and 200mm. I have the 70-300mm but desire something wider open and a bit more punch.

I hope you will keep testing the Voigtlander and keep us informed, this is one lens that I have been considering.

I'd really like to see samples images done with this Voigtlander wide open. Enjoy!

So.... I wanted a Tamron and a couple other lenses, but my back said I needed this on the front of my truck, instead. Just in time for mud season. I'll probably still be using the snowblower a bit, though.

I didn't buy this, but I made it...with the help of my next door neighbour, who just happens to be a master welder. I made the ring and tube out of 1/8" thick aluminum, and the neighbour welded them together to form a beauty dish adapter for my cheapo strobe light.

I like to build my own stuff if I can. DIY is fun AND economical. :)

I do the same if possible. Even for my dogs I made their leather collars myself. They need something solid and durable which is a rarity on the market today.

If you make it yourself, it lasts. If you buy, it might fall apart while you unpack. ;)

I need something a little wider than 35mm for my D750 so I picked up a Nikon 24mm f/2.8D for what seems like peanuts... I'm a little concerned about how sharp it'll shoot because reports seem to vary regarding the details. Guess we'll see.

Happy snapping with that one - let us know how you like it.
One of those is on my "I want one" list - not at the top at the moment but on my radar.
I have a 20-40 Tamron which covers that range but would expect improved sharpness from a prime like this.
That Tammy is not the sharpest knife in my drawer.

What I'd really like is a prime in the 14-18 range that's not fisheye-ish.
