Finally realized the brown truck wasn't coming down our road anytime soon with the snow, so i met him at the highway and got my goodies. The Tamzooka is back!!!
Monopod, lowepro flipside 400, fluid head, extra battery, lcd hood/loupe, filter, -- I'm done for a while.

Wise choice. There are two hotly debated schools concerning the pros and cons of keeping filters in front of lenses to protect the front elemet. I belong to the one where all of my lenses have Hoya HMC filters in front of them except my 16mm fisheye for obvious reasons, and two longest, my 300mm f/2.8 and 600mm f/4 AIS, but that is only because (1) they are HUGE, the 600mm especially, and (2) they are already built in to each lens. I often work in sandy and windy environments and it is a whole lot easier and cheaper to replace a filter than a front element.

Love it and I want one really badly! This is the type of stuff I love to put together and have always wanted to get above the action!

I have the DJI Phanton 2 Vision but it did not have the stabilizing gimbal and it really does need it. Go ahead and buy the Phantom 2. Vision+ it is about $500 more but probably worth it. The upgrade I just bought brings the total to almost that much.

The drones are lots of fun and the different perspective you get with them really is amazing.

I have a Df on the way. I was between the Df and the Fuji X-T1 because I wanted something that gave me the similar kind of feel to my X100 but that had interchangeable lenses, to use as a camera primarily to shoot with primes.
I ended up ordering from an AD. Yes its pretty expensive, but the total cost of investing in all the new glass with the Fuji System would be more expensive and of course Full frame is always going to be better than the FUji X Trans. X-T1 seems like an overall nicer camera and the fusion of retro/modern is executed better on the X-T1 but the availability of quality affordable lenses swayed me towards the DF.

I did consider the d610 and D750 but that would give me the exact same feeling as using my D7100 and I want something a bit different. Plus, my wife would be asking why do I need two of the same cameras? ? :)

I'm firmly in the same camp as you when it comes to covering my lenses. I'm all for using a lens hood but some people seem to forget impact damage is not the only thing to think about... I shoot in beach towns and out in the desert a lot and the schmutz a lens can collect from a day of shooting in either location can be shocking. Obviously a lens hood does nothing to stop that so all my lenses wear something to keep them clean. Normally I shoot outdoors with a Hoya "HD" CPL but I recently discovered the "Protectors" and I like them a lot. Those last two will complete my set.

I added the Tamron 24-70mm F/2.8 VC in December, the 70-200 VC last month and finally made the jump to FF with my new D750 yesterday. When I get the Tamron 15-30mm my trinity will be complete. [h=1][/h]

That is just plain showing off! Well done Vixen

Just a tad excited @Lawrence :D We had a 20fter until last week. Sold that. No standing headroom in the cabin so a bit uncomfortable for my fella who has a bad back. This one looks like a proper little cruising yacht even tho it's a trailerable 28fter. Can't wait for the first sail :D
