Do you grow these Brad? You're in the right climate but Cattelayas, Dendrobiums and Phalaenopsis aren't the easiest in the world! If you grow them, I take my hat off to you. Beautiful stuff. If you just take photos of them, I take my hat off to you also, because they're great photos. Cheers, Brad :)

Hi Brad, all these examples from the Orchid house are not grown by me, I wish they were, but they are in the Ken Burgess Orchid House.
I think it is owned and run by the Mackay Regional Council. Orchid House - Mackay Regional Council

My Wife does grow Orchids, but not on that scale. She used to have a large greenhouse full, mainly Dendrobiums and Cattelayas, but after a few house moves and some neglect, she has lost a number of them. I have posted photos of some of her Orchids earlier in this thread.

I'm really enjoying the detail I can pull out with my 800E - and this is just working with a JPEG - I'm looking forward to doing some work in RAW's, but it's such a lovely day outside I think I'll leave the "learning" till later and just get out there and enjoy my new toy...

Nice flower. But the magic of RAW mostly happens when you come inside to process your shots. You'd find you have much more possibilities and a lot of room to get details back.

I'll play Devil's Advocate here...did you realise the 'orchid' was plastic? Cheers, Brad :)

Same orchid in my bathroom. More flowers. Is the background too distracting? I used the AF-s DX Micro Nikkor 40mm f/2.8G ISO 200 0.3 EV f/9 1/13 Cheers, Brad :)

I took this in my backyard this afternoon, another "trial" of Zerene stacker (12 shots) - I've still got quite a bit to learn but I'm pleased what this program can do... taken with Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro.

Nice work! Is this a PC program? I haven't noticed it for the Mac. I've only used Photoshop to Stack Images. This is good. Cheers, Brad :)

I recognise those. It looks corporate to me; business class flowers, like a stock image on the wall of an office or something. It's different, which is good : )

"Zerene stacker" looks awesome, I'm familiar with detail gradually building up from stacking in astrophotography, and I guess its commonplace in microscope imaging, but not seen it used for anything like flowers before, good stuff.
