That is a beautiful flower. I have never seen one of those.

Big family; this is Plectranthus neochilus, a lower growing variety that bloom on and off all year long here in Southern California. Unfortunately, like all Plectras, the leaves stink, a mix of old socks and vick's vapo-rub. I have a couple of other species, but my camera is spending the holiday's at Nikon, so pictures will have to wait.

Today was such a let down with the weather. All I managed was a couple of flower shots and these were not too good.

Lots of stiff wind probably led to them being too soft.

Nice and colorful anyway. The wind is certainly a problem for flowers and macro thats for sure. When it is windy, I normally set the camera up on the tripod and wait for a break between gusts, then click the remote.
Works sometimes :rolleyes:
