Post Your D500 Shots

To be honest at 10 or 11 fps your timing can be off a little. LOL That said, with buggers this fast it's still amazing the amount that you miss in that 1/10th of a second in between.

Agreed. I have had times when the wing beat on a bird is in almost exactly the same position frame after frame on BIF shots. I guess the bird times his wing beats to 10 per second. :)

Hi,
im new in the forum and brand new in the dslr family.
i used to shoot only with mirrorless camera especially m4/3.
Maybe this is not the right thread but I have one question.
Following some birds today to shoot, I noticed that after every shot the focus point its being moving like a shake from the camera/sensor.
Is it normal with dslrs to have these movements due to the shutter's flap

thanks

You might have it in 3d tracking AF mode. That would cause the AF point to jump around. I usually use af-c d25 and that works well for me but I don't shoot birds or anything super quick.

Already posted this elsewhere, but I just wanted to show how great the high ISO shot cleans up on this camera. I have the auto ISO set at MAX 4000, but I may just up it to 6400.
I use NIK Define exclusively for NR.
This camera is exceeding my expectations by a mile.

 How did you get ISO 1100? Don't think I've ever seen that on any of my cameras. Nice images, Jake!

I've basically learned that with modern sensors you can feel like a pro by shooting in Manual all the time, while in reality you've simply learned how to set your camera so you're essentially fooling yourself and are in actuality in a different form of Auto mode. I set the shutter and aperture and tell the camera to pick the ISO that works for the exposure (Auto ISO). As long as it promises not to go past my max I just shoot and don't think twice. I barely ever think about ISO on anything outside of studio-type stuff.
