When we went to San Francisco earlier this year, we were traveling around just sight seeing since it had been raining. We were going down a road, and I noticed a huge cemetery. Then, further down the road there were 2 more huge cemeteries. I remarked that there were a lot of cemeteries close together, then my husband said he saw a pet cemetery as well. I made him turn around so I could investigate both the pet cemetery and one of the people ones. I was curious about the pet cemetery's history since some of the graves dated back a good while, so I looked it up and found this great article about Colma, Ca. It really is the city of the dead. The "Pet's Rest" cemetery has Tina Turner's dog in it.

That is quite the cemetery! All of that artwork and a mammoth dry dam? Freaky. Yes, I read up on it.
There is a boat-load of geocaches hidden in there, as well.

I have two gold stars marked on Google Maps for that area. Dave's Cosmic Subs, just down the road; and Loganberry Books, where I hope to go someday and meet their cats!
