I'm not sure what he is. It was shot at McKee Botanical Gardens in Vero Beach, Florida... McKee is known for their ponds and water lilies. There were some little minnows splashing around at the edge of a pond, and this guy came running out of the bushes to the water's edge, and then remained perfectly still while watching the minnows. He's smallish. About as big as my hand...

I haven't seen any this year. There is a park where a couple green herons have stayed during the warm months, but ever since COVID with more people frequenting the park to walk (many health clubs had to close down last year), the herons disappeared. Here are some that I've shared in the past taken at different times.

I remember taking these first 3 images - I had just received a pre-owned Nikon 70-200mm f/4 VR lens and wanted to test it out.
