They may be called common, but these Common Redpolls are not common in these parts - I can't say I've ever seen them before - or at least I never noticed them before. They are a northern bird and even burrow into the snow.

Mom has chicks in there. Just too small to see them over the nest. We did watch her feed them this morning.
