I know loads could have done better but in my boredom and interest as to what i could do with a P900 jpeg i had a go,i have always liked the Robin in this but it was too cluttered for me.

I reworked some parts that bugged me and toned it all down to get more of a night feeling.

This first image was from a focus stack I was shooting to teach a friend what it did as oppose to a singular image and the depth of focus.

Then is went a little crazy and ended with this.

A little content aware fill and clone stamp work in Photoshop to "recover" a wing tip cut off in the frame.

What a finished image looks likes can vary between photographers but this is my take on this image,i know i could have used layers but i dont,

Where i do a lot of shooting it can have a very distracting background and can get a bit bird busy, here is a before example.

before

To get the image how I want it using Photoshop the raw is first loaded into ACR and I click auto, if i like the result i then open in photoshop.
For this image I did, the resize first as my computer can be slow, 1024 on the long side.
Cloned out all the OOF birds using content aware
Leveled the image
Then did a crop extending the canvass anywhere I felt it needed.
The empty canvas areas where filled using content aware
Subject select was used on the bird and then inverted.
Lens blur was used on the background
Resized back to 1024 due to canvass extension

I am going thru the tutorial by PHlearn. I am learning to use layers. The first layer I used to take out the utility poles. The second layer is a levels layer and mask and I am trying to recover some of the blue in the sky. I may have overdone it, I have been looking at it for a while. The 3rd layer is a curves layer and mask I wanted to brighten the barn and silo. I think this will take a while to get the hang of.
