Went out this AM to see a B-29 Super Fortress at the local airport here in North Texas. While I was waiting for it to return from flying some visitors around the area, this beauty taxied up in front of me.
This particular aircraft is part of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Red Tail Squadron, America’s tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen. Also, I found out that the P-51C model was built in Dallas during WWII.
Images of Boeing B-29 Superfortress from a visit to a local airport. FIFI is one of two B-29s that are currently flying in the world (with Doc being the other B-29). It is owned by the Commemorative (formerly Confederate) Air Force and is based at the Vintage Flying Museum at Meacham International Airport in Fort Worth, Texas.
Lockheed Pogo-Stick from WAYYYYY back. Happened to stumble across it in Lakeland Florida while attending Sun-N-Fun. One of my favorite planes from the '50's, and the only surviving example left.
