Can't disagree. That said, the price is not out of line for that level of restoration (at least here in SoCal). The body had three paint jobs over time and was taken back to the metal. There was some minor rust damage and denting, etc that was fixed, then three coats of primer and hand sanding. And the paint was a custom mix exactly matching MB's metallic silver of the era -- took a dozen trials.
Like I said, money does not seem to be an issue in this case.
I offered to take some real pretty pictures for him if he bought me a D5 and a few lenses. . .
