Thanks. Yes, they look great -- good ol' Kodachrome. The most prized slide I found is an impromptu family portrait from 1939 of my Grandfather, Grandmother, Dad and my two Aunts on the front porch at their home. The composition is excellent and being on Kodachrome, it looks like it was taken yesterday.

Thank you. I'm babying it now, breaking the engine in. I conservatively put the spurs to it yesterday to put some distance between me and a tailgating barn-sized SUV and was impressed. I love the clutch and gearbox so far, light and precise. If it ever warms up here, I want to clay bar and wax it. Right now my clay bar is like stone.

I was just about to ask you how many coats of wax you've put on it. Do you figure your new car needs a clay bar? Beautiful GTI, enjoy the ride. :encouragement:

;) I suppose you're right. I see tiny bits of the white plastic shipping wrap they cover exterior panels with that the Dealer failed to completely remove and I found that the clay bar is good for pulling these free. There're not many. At first I thought I had paint damage and was hugely relieved when I discovered what they were.

My biggest challenge has been mastery of the high-tech features like Apple CarPlay and customizable settings for all kinds of driving and safety features. I just got my first smart phone a few months ago. Between it and the GTI, I have much to learn.

As seen yesterday, a 1965 Porsche 356C available for $135,000 USD (£97,500 GBP). Safe to say, it will not reside in my garage.

Overpriced, I think, but prices may be higher in the UK than here in the States. Sure is a beautiful machine, regardless.

I wish VW still offered the Golf and GTI with two doors. Yours looks so nice.

I like the two door version too. A friend of mine bough a 2016 MK7 that the dealer told him was one of the last two doors imported. My guess is they didn't sell enough two doors to bother making them.
