I got my Tamron 150-600 back today, it went in for warranty work.
The report says they changed a switch assembly. The AF on/off switch maybe ?

I went out and took a few test shots, the AF seems to be back to normal.
I haven't readjusted the AF fine-tune, it is still at -2.
Looking at the handheld test shots, I don't think it needs much changing, but I will do some better testing with a target and the camera on a tripod when I get some spare time.

That was a very fast turn around! Nikon needs to take some lessons from Tamron.

Yes, quick service indeed. Very long distance too, Mackay is on the east coast, the Tamron repair facility is in Perth on the Southwest coast, its a 5 day drive each way, so it must have went by plane both ways.

It didnt cost me anything, the shop that I bought the lens from sent it back for me, one of the girls that work in the shop sent her 70-200 in the same box for AF repairs as well. She was disappointed because mine came back without hers.

I am almost entirely sure I will be

a) sending in the Tam for a full service reset
b) selling it at a very reasonable price
c) buying a g2

not in that order

I was looking through some old pictures and thought this one was worth a re-post. It was taken with my Nikon D7000 using a Tamron 150-600mm at 600mm from sitting in my car at GINS Park in Ocean Springs, Ms. It has a lot of unique detail that I have never seen before or since.
