Not heard from any one if this update has any effect on the freeze, i think not as some have bought later models and still get it but you can always hope

I have emailed Nikon Canada about the "freeze" problem ( 5 days ago) and the likelihood of a fix but no reply yet. I will give them until next week to reply ten start bugging them.

Some images from my first serious run out with the Tamron 150-600mm, taken at RIAT (Royal International Air Tattoo)on the rehearsal/arrival day held in the UK.

The day started off dull and then brightened up later.

I am very pleased with the performance of this lens on the D810 and it does everything it should - very well!

I like taking what I call close up portrait style shots of birds and animals and got this one yesterday at the park in Ocean Springs. Taken at the boat launch with my Tamron 150-600mm lens, handheld.

I know that most of you know this already but I wrote this for on another site and thought that it may be something a few of the newer members had not thought of. A lot of folks think that a long lens is for shots far away so you can get closer to your subject and that is true but I would like to suggest that you try your longer lenses at the shorter distances because it will give you nice blurred backgrounds and compress the shot making the background appear much closer. This shot was taken at a distance of about 25ft and shot at 600mm. Notice how the background appears to be close to the subject when in fact there was much more distance from the background to the subject than from the subject to me. The longer focal length compresses the shot. Try using your 200mm and 300mm and the longer lenses on subjects up close. Remember that the longer lenses are NOT just for longer distances. Give it a try, you may like the effect. I shoot with my longer lenses at close up subjects all the time.

Unless otherwise impossible, I always shoot my 150-600 as close as possible, the results are definitely excellent when used to just to magnify a small object at a short distance.
