Sandhill Cranes are possibly my favorite birds, not the cleanest picture I would've wanted but they were a good distance away and my lens was having issues focusing with all the heat causing waves in the distance

I tried that with paintball...using the 150-600mm to stay far away from the action and STILL my tripod and bag got tagged! Fortunately, not the camera or lens.

Feedback from people getting it done has been positive with birds in flight / panning function - if it doesn't have the new firmware (below certain serial numbers).

Not heard from any one if this update has any effect on the freeze, i think not as some have bought later models and still get it but you can always hope
