I got the Lowepro 13x32 lens case and it fits perfectly

Just received the case today. Still waiting for the lens to arrive. All I can say about the case is holy cow! I didn't envision the lens being that gigantic, but I guess I'll find out. If it does fit, I can offer up a cheaper alternative to the Lowepro: the case is almost the same exact size as a few of my camping lantern cases, and there are a ton of them on the market, both soft and hard cases. A hard case with a bit of foam custom cut to fit would be fantastic.

The brown truck showed up this afternoon and i didn't waste any time getting the tamron out and take it for a spin.
I do have a question about the lens mount that i posted this evening in the Q&A forum for some advice. http://nikonites.com/photography-q-and-a/28770-loose-lens-mount-advice-needed.html#axzz3Ra2Ebj6Q

Shooting at 600mm with a DX camera adding the 1.5 crop factor in a boat that is moving is a real challenge. I think this is a red shouldered hawk

In the series "They say the Tam is a bit soft at the long end":

If that's what I see at 150mm:

It's not too shabby I can grab/crop/blow this when using my 600mm:

Great comparison, I was going to wait for the Sigma but two upcoming trips and found a never used used Tamron for $925 and I am a very happy camper, looks very well built and thus far (just got it yesterday) just a few test shots and I am very pleased with the lens performance, especially hand held. I have San Diego and Alaska coming up to run it through its paces. Much larger and heavier that my Sigma 50-500, my wife and I will take turns transporting in alaska, lol. Love all of these shared pics.

I first ordered the Sigma Sports but it was not available. It still isn't here. The Tamron does a good job but some of us can have a focus freeze once in a while. Turning the cam on and off fixes it for me.
