Looks like the room is coming along nicely. How much more to go?

Marilynne,

Thanks. I still have to finish going through the bookshelves and pulling out what I don't want and putting all my knitting and photo books that have been scattered on different bookshelves in the house due to spacial constraints. :) I figure, it should take another week or two. I am not a rug or carpeting fan due to my allergies, but I think I want a small area rug in the room. The floor looks to empty and bare.

I love that it is already usable, and the cats & dog now go in the room, find a comfy spot and stay in there. The whole energy of the room has changed.

The sun finally came out this afternoon and I took advantage of it.

I know this cardinal photo is not the greatest in the world. I took it through the storm door window. I knew that as soon as I opened the door, this guy would be gone. As it was, he heard the shutter through the door, and flew off immediately after I got this image.

This little guy was waiting for the nuthatches to leave the bird feeder.

Ah, my favorite bird... a nuthatch. Same bird in both photos. I love the first one.

I've been retired for over three years and still get up between 4 and 5am. It's hard to break the habit (over 25 years worth). Even when I make it to 10:30pm, I'm still up early.

I am a morning person. I think I am sleeping late on the weekend when I getup at 7. :)

I did not have a lot of time today, but did take a few opportunistic photos, feline and canine.

Since it rained on and off all day, I ended up spending most of the afternoon and evening moving books around. I did my photography books first. Somehow, I always thought I had more than I do. Now that they are in one place, they don't look like there are as many as I thought. I think I have a few at work in my classroom. I will have to check on Monday. One of my first photo books was a Leica Manual from the early 1960s that my father gave me. I still have it. It has a lot of really good basic photo information, that holds for both film and digital photography.

I took this with my iPhone, so sorry if it's not very good.

Today was a really nice day out by the afternoon. I went out for a while and got these:

The first of the season:

I just like the geometry and stark colors of this.

I did not have a chance to process or post yesterday's photo until this evening. I was walking the dog yesterday when I came across this dead plant. Not sure what it is but I just liked the way the sun fell it. I liked the contrast of the new grass growing under last year's unknown dead plant. It was the hairy look it had that caught my eye initially.
