That is some curly grass/weed :) I found some really tall curly grass/weeds in the winter all covered in frost but I mucked up my shots because my hands were frozen :)

It looks like it is going to rain later, but at least it's holding off for now, so I walked around outside this afternoon and came across an odd collection of things to photograph.

I went out using only one lens, the Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 AF lens. Quite often, I just go out using one lens for the day, session, or whatever.

I was on a bug hunt and then saw this crow on top of a utility pole. I started to stalk it at a distance. I am very surprised how this photo came out.

For some reason, my forsythia are nearly blooming this year. Usually, I get bushes full of bright yellow blossoms in the spring, and then a decent blooming in late October. I have very weird forsythia. The cuttings that I originally planted came from 100+ year old bushes. That may explain a lot.

I just liked the green of these sprouting honeysuckle leaves.

This poor thing had been nibbled on by deer earlier. Looking at it just made me think of some alien life form. I think I have watched too many bad sci fi movies lately. :)

Today was a really busy, crazy day and I almost forgot to get a photo. I took this at about 10 pm this evening. It was, yes, was a shortbread cookie with raspberry filling. It was very yummy.

Yummy!

Finally, my bird feeder is getting visits from more than just chickadees, nuthatches, and the occasional red squirrel.

This bluejay was flying back and forth across the back lawn and finally settled on this bush. It kept looking around as if no one could see it.

Bet You Can't See Me

I just like doves. I just think they are under appreciated.

Finally got a photo of the goldfinch. I have been trying to get a photo of this one for months. I finally got lucky.

This is the first time I have seen a red wing blackbird at the bird feeder. I was really surprised because I thought they were insectivores.

Yes, I am an Omnivore

Now I know it is really spring. The tulip maple is finally sprouting some leaves. All we needed was a few warm days, and everything is finally transforming itself.

I have been spending so much time working on things around the house (my library is still a work in progress), that I almost forget to go and take some photos. :( Anyway, I think I mentioned before that my forsythia this year has been really sad in the flower department. Below is such an example. Great leaves, very few flowers.

I took advantage of a beautiful day this afternoon. My photography class went outside and took all sorts of photos.

We have a few very old trees around the agency grounds. Here is part of one.

There is a brick walk between two of the dorms. People can donate money and get a dedicated brick. I liked this one.

The local grey and red foxes have totally decimated the rabbit population. These are the only ones I saw. Thank you Beatrix Potter for Flopsie, Mopsie, and Cottontail. :)

More skeezy spider photos. I love warm weather. :)

These two are labyrinthine orb weaver spiders. They are pretty common around here.

This photo is the top side of the same spider as last night. Definitely not as yucky looking from the top.

the bottom one is fun to watch, when they get spooked. they lay strait as a stick on stems and grass. I will post a couple pics of them on my 365.

Spider photos continue, but this one is partly hidden and I did not notice it until I uploaded the photos and took a closer look.

Spent the the first day of my 4-day weekend running around doing errands and such so I have the rest of the weekend free. I did spend some time in my little library and finally went through the remainder of the books in the room. That does not mean I am done with books. I now have wall space to put up some photos. That will be the fun part, selecting which photos I want. That's a rainy day project. :) Anyway, Spooky was not really impressed with all the work I have done on the room. He found June bugs hitting the screen a lot more interesting.
