Well our retreat is over and now we are back to reality! But before we left, I took this pre-dawn photo from outside our room.

This picture might not look all that spectacular, but it is my first attempt at an extreme close-up with extension tubes and a focus stacking. It took 10 different photos with just a bit different focus in each one. Then it is combined in Helicon Focus. (Trial version) I know it's nothing great, but is one more thing I've learned!

Photo #12 of 366 - 2012 Pre-snow image of the First Presbyterian Church in Kingston TN. Burrrrr! It was COLD out there this evening, but at least I'm about over my cold and congestion! There were times during this sickness I almost didn't put up an image, but so far I'm still here! Wow. What was I thinking? 366 images? Presbyterian-Church-Kingston.jpg

I like the glow on the church Thom. Good job and keep it up. I'm struggling to find things too. Sooner or later I'm gonna run out of ideas

Self portrait of me and my Mamiya RB67, using my brand new remote wireless shutter trigger on my Nikon D5000. The RB67 is on a very old Majestic studio tripod.

Ha! You got it! I'm old school alright. My user name on eBay is "love old cameras" The problem is, I love "ALL" cameras! Ansel... I wish! Ha!

Good job, Thom! Hang in there. One of my posts last year was a bottle of pepto :)

Nice shot of the church!

By the way... I bought my wireless shutter trigger on eBay. It came with "instructions." Here they are verbatim:

Normal shooting
Turn on the receiver power switch, when the transmitter function switch sets as _B; support camera's single shoot or continuous shoot (when camera sets as single sheet shoot which is supported to single shoot function: when camera sets as continuous shoot which is support continuous shoot). Press fully button from transmitter, at this moment the transmitter transfers the shooting from focusing, the receiver's signal light turns on at the same time.

Now THAT clears it up! I'm trying to figure this thing out, but so far it is hit and miss to get it to work!

LOL...typical Chinese instructions, eh! :) You should email them and ask them to translate that gibberish into real English for you! :)
