I have to say Nikon is playing this well. They have released a teaser on this new camera. Well done!!

My Canon guy says it will retail for $3,000.00 Body, $3400.00 with 50/1.8.

That's a little unrealistically steep. But, that's a cannon guy for ya :)
My guess will be around 2000 body and 2300 with kit. Going by other comparable releases lately, that's about the midland here.

Update, I hear now that my Canon guy was mistaken. No such thing as D4H and the prices were bogus. No more listening to Canon guys. Anyone know a Nikon guy? :)

I don't get using the D4 sensor. After using the 24mp of the D600, there's no way I would go back to 16. I'm sure allot of D800 users would feel similarly?

I'm not a sports photographer so the specs with ISO 100-12,800 native would be refreshing for a change and slower fps is acceptable. My D800 is available if I need more mega pickles.
