An overlooked lens. I got mine along with an 18-140(another superb unsung lens) as part of a kit and I too am very happy with it. Then again I haven't met a Nikkor that I didn't like!

Then I assume you haven't met the 55-200mm? I wish I'd got this lens instead of the 55-200mm as part of my kit. Admittedly it was the older non VR version but I didn't like it at all!

I got started doing it with frames in Elements 11 had to upgrade to a 13 trial for the 750 and they are not in it now:miserable:

The 55-300 is a great lens. I use it very often. Even far away shots, handheld, a great. I cropped one - still looks great
