Nice shots of the sweater. I especially like the close up that shows the texture. Tell your wife nice job on the knitting. I like those blue buttons on the green. :)

She says thank you. And the pattern is available for free on ravelry.com :)

I had knit socks once. They were so warm and comfortable. Nice pictures and knitting.

Thanks Scott :) I'll tell my wife you said so.

I think this thread needs something different after the last couple of days. I'll see what I can come up with. Maybe something "a little more manly" :D

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with

Thanks a lot Marilynne :)
Yes. She's quite handy when it comes to knitting. I sure do enjoy my woollen sock, that's for sure :D

Day 40
Dangit! The very manly plans I though I had got cancelled. So the photo I had time to take was taken less than ½ a meter from the previous ones, and is only marginally more wild. On the other hand, there's a beer for anyone who can guess what this tool is used for :)

I really don't know. But I'll take the beer, if its a problem getting rid of it ;)

Is it a curved needle? Wooden sheath?

Re: nidding's first year of shooting

Nope. Not that either.

As this is actually really hard to guess I'll give you a little help.
It is related to making some kind of clothing, but it has nothing to do with wool. Though the material still comes from an animal. Also it's a historical tool, and isn't actually used any more.

Today's photo will contain the answer :)

Its used for putting holes into leather belts.

Day 41
This is a replica of a stitching awl, used in the medieval European shoemaking. The awl is used for punching holes in the leather before stitching with either a needle or a boar's bristle. Like so: :)

The picture is lit only by candle light, and it wasn't easy keeping the hand steady :)

...so no one guessed right :( But the beer will go to the one who gets here the fastest :)
