Composition, Composition, Composition...
Hi guys
i mentioned in my earlier post we are going to NZ in December Jan
and planning a trip to Milford Sound
have any of you guys got advice on gear, techniques or anything that would help get some stunners
this is one off trip of a lifetime as they say
I don't want to come back with cards and cards full of average
So are you anticipating taking landscapes for the most part? What sort of equipment do you have now?
Just off the top of my head I'd suggest a good polarizing filer, a good tripod and/or monopod and a wireless remote if you're lacking any of those items.
As for getting good shots, my best advice is that you study up on what makes for a good landscape photo,
compositionally speaking. For instance many people think a wide, or super-wide angle lens is essential for landscapes when, in reality, that simply is not the case. And while most photographic boo-boos can be fixed, or at least minimized, with post-processing fixing bad composition is next to impossible.
Simply put, strong composition is what will elevate your shots from "ho-hum" to "WOW!".
