@Don Kuykendall

This is what I use. Amazon.com: Neewer CN-126 LED Video Light for Camera or Digital Video Camcorder: Camera & Photo

It gives a beautiful spread of light with a dial on the side to adjust intensity and it doesn't have a hot spot. In creating that photo there were two lights used and it took about 25-30 tries before we nailed the lighting. First light in the foreground camera left and back two steps. Very brief hit of the light. The light for the cliff was located down in a gulch. I then panned the light back and forth using the intensity dial to crank up the light for the more distant cliffs and to turn it down for the closer.

I can't say enough about this light for anyone that wants to light paint.

LOL, now I'm giving away my secrets.

Had a great day out wandering around not knowing what I was going to shoot, but I wanted to shoot something. My day started off with a laugh as I saw this man paddling across the Great Salt Lake on his board, sitting on a cooler, with an umbrella over his head.

Next, I decided to head over to my Hummingbird hot spot... but the flowers and hummers are not there yet. However, this gave me the chance to pull out the Tamron 150-600mm "macro" for some flower bee shots.

I captured this bee as he came in on final approach to the flower.

And then it went horribly wrong as the bee got distracted and crash landed head first into the flower.

Feeling really good with my Tamzooka Macro, I decided to try for some mini butterflies... that didn't work out so well. But here's a flower instead. You can imagine the butterfly.

Behind me I could hear some serious grunting. Figuring it was a butterfly with some serious indigestion I thought I should investigate. Turns out it wasn't a butterfly, but a cute cuddly tourist launching buffalo.

Deciding to call it a day, turning to leave, I see the most beautiful bright red bird in a tree up ahead. I quickly scramble to get a shot of this bird but it moves into the shade. Sometimes you get what you get so I photographed it and hoped for the best. Once I got home I learned this bird lives on the eastern half of the United States and shouldn't be out here. Guess no one ever told the bird that. In my research there had only been five confirmed sightings of this bird here in Utah. So I filled out the Rare Bird Sighting form and sent it in along with my picture to this Utah birding site.

Nearing my vehicle I couldn't help but chuckle and think that is one serious pioneer wheel blow out. The cool thing out west is that we have these things around and they are the real deal.

Arriving home I was treated to another not supposed to be here moment as I saw this unfamiliar plane flying overhead on approach to Hill A.F.B. Of course I had to photograph it. Turns out to be a pretty important aircraft. If you're curious, look up operation "Looking Glass".

To end the day I photographed Oreo the I hate everyone killer neighborhood cat.

Now off to bed for me. Hope you enjoyed my little photo adventure.

Photographed some skydivers getting a jump a little before sunset. I also realized tonight that my cameras time is off by two hours and 9 minutes. It's been so long since I've set the date I can't seem to remember where it is LOL.

You enjoying your new walk around lens then :D

I am. What I'm finding out through experimentation is how to pull out sharp images and what kind of conditions it works best in. Been impressed so far. Although it's a brutal lens as my "walk around" lens.

On my Glacier thread my wife had grumbled about my plan to put her in a white dress in the Glacier stream running into the lake to fulfill a photo I had in mind. Sentiment in the end was on my side that she should do it so in the end I won. On another thread I introduced Cody, the young photographer I created. Well he saved my wife's bum from the cold water when I said we could do the shot with her sitting on a wooden chair - Cody saved the day for my wife and brought us... her a chair. I will do a little more tweaking in a couple days after I have had my eyes off of it, but here it is.

Mountain goats shot at there level - it's a long way down! Did some scrambling to get these guys as they hid away from the intense sunlight.

My first dog shoot. No actions shots as this dog is a bit older and has a leg that is not so good. Add to it the nearly 100 degree day.

Always working to improve my workflow. Went back and edited this picture from my daughters Prom using some new techniques - the never ending journey.

Went out to shoot some football today. One of the Dad's inquired about the photography and I gave him my card and let him know I got some shots of his son. He said he was interested so we shall see. I got a great five shot sequence of him tackling the running back and taking him down. Would look spectacular as a 51" print of the sequence. We shall see if he contacts me. His son plays in a position on the line that he seldom ends up in a photography moment. I was lucky enough to catch him in a moment. This kid, #68, is 13 years old and 6 foot 2 inch (1.9 meters) - that's a big 13 year old.

When you look this cool someone has to take your picture. The artwork of the shirt was great and his texture as well LOL.
