The overcooking honestly wouldn't be bad without the de-ghosting artifacts. Always bugs me when I get part way through an HDR edit and they become extremely prominent with a single adjustment. In case you didn't realize, HDR Efex Pro 2 allows you to go back to the merge settings at any point and change the settings, and then return to where you are, so if you hit it again you can go back and either choose a different ghost removal frame or reduce the ghost removal setting amount to get those cloud boxes to go away.

Admitted, I am not well versed on HDR. Done a few, but with great pain. I really need to sit down and learn HDR. Thanks for the tips.

@BackdoorHippie

Ok, so you called me out on a sloppie photo that I could have done better, but I was lazy. That bugged me because there is no excuse for not taking the time to round out our skills and HDR is not one of the skills I would say I possess. Sure, I can do it, but I don't do it well or am fluent. With that said, it bugged me so I got off my butt, or should I say I put myself on my butt, and decided to do this image right. It's always best to take the time to learn something new BEFORE we need the skill and not under the pressure of, "I have got to get this right and have no clue!"

So thank you BackdoorHippie for calling me out and giving some advice. I took the advice and went back to the drawing board.

No excuse for shoddy work when we can do better. I now resubmit the image :)

Glad you took it in the spirit it was given. Your 365 is one of the ones I visit regularly and I'm pretty consistently inspired by your work. I know you don't do HDR often, so I wanted you to know that 1) I run into the same thing and usually not right in the beginning (though it was there to be seen), and 2) it can be fixed with the Nik tools even if you've applied a hundred settings and control points already. What I didn't want to do was call you "sloppy" - that's something we call ourselves, and we know when we were.

The new edit is stellar.
