Day 62 - New Wheel

Got my new wheel mounted after having been hit by the car last Thursday. Sadly, I no longer have my hand made in Germany customized just for me wheel.

I would say something about you needing the exercise but I will leave that to the Lady of the house. LOL

Hopefully the idiot that hit you bought you the new wheel.

She did, $240. The wheel she destroyed was worth more, but I figured I had to find a balance between what I would see in the hand verses pursuing what it was truly worth and who knows what I might have actually seen in the end.

Man sorry to hear about the custom wheels. It's amazing that a set of road wheels will easily set you back more than new rims for my truck. I am in the process of fixing up my panasonic sport. But I am not going to go too crazy over a $10 bike.

If I had hit her for the full cost it would have been $500 for the rear wheel. It is stupid money, but this is a mountain bike for racing and quality components are stupid high at this level. Fortunately, I am back on track for my next 24 hour race in June.

I have a buddy who road races and cyclocross races. That stuff adds up fast.

I biked strictly for cardio. But I have been hooked for a while now. Doc told me with the knee to either bike or swim. And pool memberships cost around here...

I have always loved biking. Still remember when my father told me, "you won't ride your bike anymore once you have a drivers license. Additionally, my legs were ran over by 23,000 lbs while in the military. Biking is an activity I can do that is, all things being relative, minimally painful to do. Ultimately though, I just like riding my bike. And who knows, I even hear that a bike can be rode just for fun. I can't verify that, but a lot of people have told me it's true.

Biking is a blast. Unfortunately we don't have many bike lanes around here so I stick to my local bike path. I grew up in the country, biking is how we made it to the other kids house because walking took too long.

I can't remember a time when I haven't owned a bike. But a few years ago is when I really got serious with my biking. And I went from a love of riding to I need to ride.

Day 63 - Photobombed by a cat.

The sun was low and I was messing around with some ideas on shooting shadows on the red fence. I stopped shooting when reviewing different shots and saw the cat that appeared in this image. Art that makes you laugh is worth sharing.

When I saw that I imagined the cat was saying, "Uhm. You do realize it's after 6pm right? Why not stop fooling around and come inside and FEED ME!!!!!"

Once in Northern Utah I encountered a bunch of elderly bike riders all dressed in spandex. What a scary sight. Don't tell me you are one of those.;)

Thank you very much @Vixen. Glad you enjoyed my shots. One day my wife (MoabLady) and I would love to get to Australia. On a side note, we already put Scott on notice that if we show up down under we're crashing at his place. :)

Day 64 British Tornados

It wasn't a great shot, and I couldn't get the planes to turn for me on a better angle, however I knew about when they would make it back from their training flight so I sat and waited. So I am happy that I captured a plane I hadn't shot yet. Waiting to capture an F-22 and F-35.
