Day 132, F-22 Raptors
I love living next to an air force base! Checking off one more on my list of aircraft to shoot.
So on my bicycle ride home I saw an A-10 Warthog flying overhead. Being familiar with controlling aircraft from my U.S. Air Force days, and how long training sorties take, I rushed home and got my camera ready. Weapon of choice for aircraft: D7100, 55-300mm, and a keen ear. So there I sat at my computer listening for the whine of an A-10 engine and camera right next to the door for a quick draw and shoot. First sound of a jet engine and I bolt out the door as I listen and determine that is not the sound of an A-10. Stepping outside into the open and I look up, BAM! There is a flight of F-22 Raptors heading out to the training area.
While I did not get to check A-10 Warthog's off my list, I did get to mark off the F-22 Raptor. Now if I can get that A-10 in the area as well as that rarely seen F-35 Lightning I will just about have all my fighters captured.
Wished I could have had better lighting for a sharper capture, but a kill is a kill and I got the Raptors.
