Or is that a vole? Kind of looks like the voles we have around here. They can be almost as big as a rat. The tail and the smaller ears and rounder nose is what makes me think it's a vole.

Thanks Barb. I never heard of a vole. It does look similar to the one on Wikipedia.

While bike riding past a lake yesterday, we heard a splash. Parked the bikes and saw a turtle upside down.

Chris found a long stick and righted it.

It took off without even a thank you.

Thanks Helene! We've rescued at least three turtles in the last month and have seen a few that didn't make it.
