Thanks Pat. It was towards the sun and both Chris and I thought it had its back to us. Almost didn't take the shots, but glad I did.

After 24 miles of pedaling (15 of which was against the wind), we finally made it to the R/C field. Glad there was on one plane flying. I discovered that I could not hold the Tamzooka up. My arms and legs were like jelly. Glad it was only a five mile pedal home.

Ghosts in my Jeep
dsc_7600_01.jpg

This was shot through the kitchen door window in to the back of my Jeep. No, I don't have a TV in there and yes, that's Jeff and Porky from Jeff's Collie aka Lassie.

Awesome pictures of the woodpecker.....we used to have a nest of them living in our backyard in Virginia....then the neighbors hired a tree service to cut down the tree and we found a nest with 4 or 5 pileated woodpeckers that had just hatched. It was sad....and I hope they survived, but I doubt it. They were too young to have to find another home. They barely had feathers. I always loved their beauty.

Let me start off by saying I'm okay. I always tell Chris it's not if we get hit by a vehicle, but when. Well, today was my day. I got clipped by a vehicle this morning while I was on my bike heading to the dentist. The vehicle that hit me did NOT stop. Scraped up my left knee and left arm. Brake on the bike popped off and my basket is pretty banged up. I'm finding little scrapes here and there that the paramedics did not find. The police lady said some one called in a partial license plate number. My camera appears to be working, but I haven't uploaded any shots to my P/C yet. While I was getting patched up in the ambulance, Chris put my bike back together. I made it to the dentist 12 minutes late. Managed to get my 20 miles in and a walk around Wako. I know tomorrow I won't we be able to do a thing. Coming back from the dentist, the paramedics saw me riding and waved.

Oh my dear Marilynne, that is terrible to read. I wish you all the best and hope that all comes out well and you don't suffer from any after pain. I wish that the vehicle driver get into the arms of the law.

I'm sorry, but also glad that it wasn't worse. I'm sure you'll be sore for a while. Moving around a bit when you are stiff and sore will help. I'm hoping the bike and camera are both okay, too! PLEASE tell me Tamzooka is okay! ;)

It's pretty frightening on the streets, there are some real nut cases out there.

Thanks Woody. I felt if I kept moving I would be less sore. Guess I'll be the first to know in the morning.

Well, the D7100 and the Tamzooka appear to be okay. The Tenba bag did its job cushioning the blow it took. Luckily, the bike just stayed on its side and didn't flip.

I told the paramedics i would be taking photos while they worked on me if I had a shorter lens. This is the number of the ambulance.
