January 29th, back to the cold and shovelling snow... But it's good to be home.

Just some artificial flowers that got hit by a little bit of sun in my dining room. D600 28-80 3.3-5.6.

Ready to go back south yet?

Nah, I like it here. It's a lot more quiet, less traffic, more mountains. As much as I like the warmth of the south, I don't think I could live in flatlands for a long time. I like to see elevations around me, and rivers.

I live about 100 miles from where I grew up. There they have hills and rocks and where I live now is flat all the way to the coast. I like hills a lot better too.

Great photos Marcel, we are getting monsoonal weather so that means lots and lots of rain. We had 608mm so far in Jan, and I think Feb is going to be wetter.

Then I think I'd rather stay in the cold where the rain gets to freeze and then it's snow and all white for a little while until the spring. It gives more light than rain that's for sure. Snow makes a great light reflector. But then my hands get cold when I go out for a shoot.

I guess nothing is perfect in this material world.

Feb 3rd. I got the 105 2.5 out with my D700 and used it fully open to catch this snowman. It's a sweet lens.
