Growing up, I don't remember seeing anything displayed for Christmas until you saw Santa in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade. Now you can find stuff all year round. We even have a city in FL called Christmas (actually it was named after a fort when construction started on Christmas Day). We have been known to visit their post office to mail our Christmas cards if we spent Thanksgiving in PA (on the trip home). Now it's just a big money maker for some.

BTW, Roy started this, not me. I was just wondering also.

OK then I'll post my "SKY" 2 picture. Just after I posted my entry to the weekly "SKY" challenge, the sky just got better. So I switched lens and got this one for my daily pic, since the Santa was shot last sunday.

November 12th is a dark rainy day up here in Canada. I stopped at the cemetery for a few B&W shots.

And a piano person that I had to process in B&W because of mixed lighting that I just couldn't make right.

That 180mm f2.8 looks like a great lens, Marcel.

Oh it is indeed. No regrets whatsoever. :)

Yes, it is. When I was checking mine out at the camera store, the employee said he used to own one and used it for toddler portraits. He said the bokeh is creamier than the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8. I haven't used it enough to compare, but it produces terrific results. The only down side is no VR.

I was surprised when I looked at the back end of the lens. The employee said the rear element is in front of the aperture so there isn't any glass right near the back end.

November 13th, had to take a picture of my new waterproof Ricoh WG-4. Just a quick shot on the countertop.

One more for the road as they say. As I was leaving home this afternoon, the river view was just spectacular and I had to stop, get out the D600 with the 16-35 @16 and do a little HDR.
