Just curious as to what metering mode you use and did you use fill flash. With all the light behind the subject and as well as she is lit, I just have to ask.

Matrix metering with + 2/3 stop, CS5 layer adjustment for contrast and brightness just over her face and part of her neck.
Thanks for the info, nice job!
Wild flowers that Line picked up while I was changing a flat tire on my Jeep yesterday under the blazing sun.
Someone had left a beer bottle that punctured my tire wall when I did a U-turn...

How do you get your piano people to pose for photographs? What do you tell them?
I simply tell them that I'm doing a book project of my customers with their pianos for my kids and grandchild and that I want them to be part of it. Some I have to just insist, they try to get out of it but I minimize their restrictions ("well, I'm not dressed properly, my hair is not OK, could we do this next time, etc). To those who want to do it next time, I tell them OK, let's do it now and I'll take some more next time and we'll see which one I'd like to use.
I've only had 3 refusals so far and I think I'm up to around 275 portraits.

All of the ones I have seen are great. Interesting way of memorializing your clients.
And the book idea is still my goal. I've got a piano company that might even help me publish it. But there is still a lot of work to be done.
Who needs flash when you have ISO 3200 and it looks that good.![]()
