Still april 12th. Now that I'm completely awake I can do something more interesting. This will be the last pic of this flower bouquet, this time done with the D700 and 50 1.8 D at around iso 800, hand held View attachment 32729 And this bowl of mixed beans soaking for a soup tomorrow with the same setup. I thought this one would be a perfect desktop picture. View attachment 32730

The bean image is fantastic! What a great idea for a photo, I like it.

That bowl of beans creeps me out. :dejection:

To me, it looks like slugs, maggots, worms, and eyeballs. All slimmy and shiny. ::what::

I'm sure your soup will be tasty. :upset:

Marcel, Do you use any flash or external lighting for your flower (and other indoor shots).
They are quite Incredible and I hope you do use external flashes so I can blame the fact of not having one of these for my 'not so great' indoor pics

Really sorry, but they were all done with available light. Some with tungsten and some only window light.

Most important thing that is sometimes forgotten is that you have to learn to "see" light. You have to know what kind of light can do what and then you search for the right light for the right subjects.

My piano person's photos are mostly done with the light coming from 1 window. Sometimes I get lucky and get more, but 1 is all I need if the person is place at the right spot.

April 17th, I knew I should have used my flash to fill this one but I wanted to try it just with the available light. Unfortunately, the wood was reflecting too much light with a red cast and the balance is screwed. But the house was interesting for the piano.

I like the available light. The color does not bother me. How are the acoustics for that piano in that odd shaped room?

Just too bright. There is nothing to absurd the high partials and both ends of the house is made of glass so there is a lot of sound reflected that creates out of phasing...

But, like they say, "it's just for the kids"...
