Well, here we enjoy the sea and the sun.... Any vacation reservations?

Oh I wish… I think my next vacations will be in November. But Greece has been on my "want to visit" list for a while now. One day for sure.

Come on Marcel! You live in Canada man...hahaha

Ya… I guess that'll teach me hey! ;) The thing is last week was so hot it was summer. And now this. But hey, it gave me time to drop to the Nikon store and have my sensor wet cleaned. Both the 700 and 7000 really needed it. I was able to watch the guy that does it and pick his brains. I'll be shopping for supplies soon and will do the next one by myself. It's not rocket science.

Thanks all for the comments.

But I think my picture has character and show my mood well… grey and dark :)

Day 89th, March 29th.

Still snow last night but the fluffy stuff. Couldn't help but try to use it. Unfortunately, I didn't check my settings BEFORE going out and the person that cleaned my sensor yesterday had set me up with jpegs only. So I didn't get as much controls on the whites as I would have liked to. Shot with D700, sigma 105 macro, iso 800 about f8.

Day 90, March 30th

A piano person that I have known from another life. We did a few ski trips out west together (Whistler, Utah). She now has become a customer with her nice Kawai baby grand. She just had a special room made for it as an addition to her house.

But sometimes I make mistakes too. I forgot to check my shutter speed and ended up shooting at 1/8th hand held… Not so sharp. So I used the paintbrush filter to hide the fact. Please don't tell. ;)

Thanks Pete, the cat's name is "Chouchoune" and we gave her this little toy to play with except she wasn't so interested. I thought it would be interesting to show her "no interest" to this. The eyes go back and forth from the cat to tweety and there's the catch. The eyes can't get out of the picture.

I'm having a good time with my cameras and just trying to get some pics done. As much as there is talk about the new D800 just to make our NAS grow out of proportion, I enjoy taking my D90 with the small 50mm lens and just have fun with it. So I'm fighting this NAS thing as much as I can. But one never knows, once that seed is planted, it grows and grows… ;)

Thanks again for your likes and encouragement.

Marcel all of these sort of short range scenic landscape type of things that you do are very very good. Wish I had the eye to pick out such scenes.

Thanks Jeff. I guess my work takes me quite a bit in the country side and I'm always on the lookout for such a view.

I got a chance to get a 24-70 from my local Kijiji and just could not pass up on it. I've heard so many people talk about the qualities of this lens and I only have to agree. I've only had it for 2 days but it seems to be made just for my D700. It's got something that is very hard to describe. It's sharp, but it's not harsh sharp. The skin tones this combination makes are just out of this world.

Since I'm baby sitting for my daughter all week, I'm doing all my test shots with my grand daughter. Here's a shot done tonight, available light around 800 iso, hand held:

Good job Grandpa! hahaha Did she inherit those peepers from you? :)

Guess I might have to check into this lens...does it have an internal focusing motor?
