Parents always worry when young ones fall from the nest.

Just for fun, I wanted to see the difference between the Df with the 24-120 and the D810 with my old plastic 28-80. I had to adjust the exposure to match because with the Df ( or me that couldn't seem to get the in between shutter speeds) it was either 1/250 or 1/500s while the 810 would let me have 1/3 stop adjustments. So here are 2 shots with both, cropped to match the size. No sharpness or saturation added. Processed in LR. Both shots heavily cropped. The main difference I see is mostly on the bokeh. The 24-120 seems to produce a less nervous bokeh.

Post processed this shot I did this morning. I don't remember which camera was used. I could look it up, but it will show up in the exif. Post processing in Nik Analog Pro2.

And this one I did originally with my iPhone while I was waiting on my mother at the drugstore. Il was the only camera I had so I used it and I had forgotten about this file. I just saw it this morning while doing synch to my computer. Same Nik analog2 post processing.

Got a 1.4 II Nikon tele-extender. First trial with the 200-500. Considering the low light low contrast situation, I'm quite pleased with it so far.

Petals are beginning to fall, and spiders are beginning to crawl! :hurt:

I have that teleconverter. It works well with my Nikon 300mm f/4. There is so very little image degradation from it which makes it nice to use. Have fun with yours! Looking forward to seeing of your images with it. :encouragement:

Early shots with the 1.4 extender and 200-500. All shots were done wide open which gives f8 with the extender. Focus seems to be working fast and fine even in low light when there is enough contrast on the subject.

Nice images, Marcel. Was the squirrel shot difficult? The squirrel blends in so well with the color of the curb that it makes me wonder how you were able to focus.

Well it focused fine but I might have pre-focused on the sidewalk in front of the squirrel. But, most of the time, I rest my thumb on the focusing ring and I do adjust when in a hurry and the focus seems to be hunting a bit. But with this lens and tele-extender it seems I can rely on the autofocus quite often.
